Masopher and the poor
In a world where tree huggers are screaming for the environment, chicken littles screaming for vanishing food and everyone moaning about a supposed shortage or threat to the supply of oil, we seem to expend a lot of resources on keeping hungry mouths open and maintaining poverty.
Poverty is a) a drain on resources on the regular citizens of countries that have little to spare and b) a perpetuation of neediness by countries who have much undeveloped and exploited potential. You will find that in these same “rich countries” it is the poor who are paying for the poor in the poor countries while the real rich are kept safe by tax breaks and a healthy concience. You will also find that in these poor countries the resources are being used by the rich of the poor and rich countries with little of the benefit ever going to any of the poor people in either countries.
The redistribution of wealth occurs between we the taxpayer and the poor dying in the third world. When these countries come with hat in hand they never consider who the money is from. Its not from the government, not from rich bankers, rich land owners, not from their own governments who can afford and maintain armies, not from the rich multinationals companies exploiting resources back in their country.
These countries take our tax dollars. They take our tax dollars and put it right back in the coffers of the ministers in our country that they bribe, the ministers of their country that misappropriate donations, the rich that take tax breaks for pittance charities, the arms dealers in my country that sell them weapons and the companies that exploit them without paying anything back.
To make it simple: I pay taxes, my taxes goes to keep “Jesus”, the least of my brothers, in Somalia alive. My taxes gets misappropriated and some dictator gets my tax dollars. Jesus stays alive long enough to become a statistic used to justify me paying taxes for Jesus. In fact worse comes to worse Jesus actually gets some of my taxes and buys enough overpriced food to become a hungry Jihadist. In the meanwhile I lose my mortgage for an overpriced house and overpriced food and then I am the one being a statistic. Masopher on the other hand doesnt pay much taxes in fact Masopher has a company in Somalia that takes Jesus’ land away making him a refugee. Masopher has hired some thugs to keep Jesus out and those thugs often fight with the dictators thugs using titles that usually include the words democratic and liberation. Jesus will never get any land to keep himself alive, Jesus will never get educated, he will never get the water he wants and he will never stop fucking Mary and spreading AIDS and having little Jesi.
You see both Jesus and I suffer and the longer Jesus stays alive the more I suffer. Maybe I should give my life for Jesus but to be quite honest even when I die, Jesus will keep on suffering until someone else becomes a victim of his suffering. If Jesus dies, I wont suffer and no more Jesus need die for my “sin of selfishness”.
Why do I have to suffer for Jesus is the question I am asking. Let Jesus die, give me taxes and cheaper food and let Masopher run his business in Somalia. Asking Masopher to keep Jesus alive is too much to ask so stop asking me.
Is hard to answer that question without becoming a conspiracy theorist. We are all programmed to keep others alive but Masopher and others like him have undone that programming making Masopher and others like him..inhuman in that aspect.
In the meantime I end up being that asshole for asking Jesus to do the right thing and stop making me suffer to keep his hungry mouth perpetually begging bread.
