Gaffe?
This word is becoming more and more annoying. These aren’t the days of a bumbling George W. lovably demonstrating what America’s dimmest and worst are made of. These are people that claim to be serious and different. When Bush made a “gaffe” to a Chinese Premier or some factory in the Midwest the economy was doing well, Putin was a good buddy and Jon Stewart had a laugh on the Daily Show about it. When Superman Obama and Wonder-woman Clinton make a “gaffe”, you wonder what the hell we have gotten ourselves into.
Gitmo? No close. Iraq? No withdrawal. Diminished civil rights? No rollback. The Constitution? Undermined. Pork budgets? Even more. Partisanship? Same old, same old. Corporate kickbacks? ITS THE DEMOCRAT MODUS OPERANDI.
The latest ‘gaffe’ is Hillary Clinton going to Russia to press the “overdrive” button with her Russian counterpart. Not a single person or consultant of the State department said…’wait a minute, that isn’t “reset”’. After years of intercepting Russian transmissions, reading Russian newspapers talking to Russians and America’s government instrument is still illiterate to the Russian language? All these geniuses that have come to power can’t get a word right and get it so wrong that they portray the exact opposite? What are the chance? An important momentous occasion watched by the world and no one did a sense check?
I simply can’t believe it’s a genuine mistake. What it really seems to be, is a cynical middle finger not to Russia who is enjoys being the antithesis of America but to everyone who wishes for a non-polar world. “Europe, China, India, Australia, Brazil, back into the bin with you! Russia and America are gonna push their hegemony back into overdrive.” America and Russia are going to finish Russia’s 30 year campaign to crush Afghanistan with Europe and Asia as complicit pawns. Missile and military bases belonging to one of the two superpowers are being stationed in Europe the Middle East and Asia. The world buys most of its weapons from either one or the other, and both enjoy the distinct capability of terminating mankind with the touch of a button. Being able to drive us into extinction is not a joke, it’s not a gaffe, stop it you two. Its not funny.
