Swords into Plowshares

They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. – Isaiah

In 1965 during the bowels of the non-war called the cold war. A super intercontinental ballistic missile was created by the Soviet Union to throw a nuclear bomb capable of scorching everything within 68 miles of ground zero at any point on the planet. Russia along with the United States is still capable of killing everything on this planet 100 times over. At the crescendo of the cold war, the 1980s, individuals got very high off Colombian and Bolivian cocaine and who wouldn’t want to be half baked when the first one of those things hit.

An anonymous author quotes that the best place to be when an atom bomb goes off is somewhere else. On any given day for the last 6 decades there is no where else to be but with you head between your legs kissing your ass goodbye if Russia ever decided to be “an aggressor”.

Today the soviet sword is literally being used as a plowshare, the Russian proton rocket regularly launches US, European and Asian commercial satellites into orbit: So that the world as a whole can advance. It is Masopher’s belief that capitalism the love of gain has been accepted as the default human behaviour and that aggression is a fallback when humans feel threatened.

Except demons and Snidely Whiplash, no one endeavours to be a bad guy. Hitler felt threatened by communists, communists felt threatened by capitalists and capitalist felt threatened by fascism and communism. They all felt threatened by their poor underclass populations so they put them to work building weapons of war and then put them to war using said weapons. Poor people die, politicians unite the people against common “threats” and capitalists (in whatever form) get rich.

Once fascism was put aside, the right and the left (represented by their extreems capitalism and communism) fought for supremacy and the right won, but not before absorbing some of the traits of both fascism and communism. America is more fascist and communist than ever, Russia is a prime example of capitalism mixed with KGB ethic and fascist brutality.

One tends to forget that just before German scientists began building weapons of destruction for the soviets, the Russians were the good guys as well! It was the soviets that shed the blood of a million Russians Ukrainians, Georgians and whoever else to slow and stop the fascist engines of war. Surviving the blitzkrieg and landing at Normandy alone did not win the second world. It was the sacrifices of Americans, Brits, free-Frenchmen and Soviets that prevented this world from being enslaved by twisted “German efficiency” and misguided existentialism.

Unfortunately after the war, swords were not turned into ploughshares but instead exchanged for bigger and bigger swords.

Now that the pen has become as mighty as the sword, swords are being used for plowshares and it is pens which are being used for propaganda and destructive information distribution. The legacy of German physicists has been put away for legacies of German psychologists and Russian administrators. Instead of having our bodies vaporized into ash we have our minds melted into homogenous goo. The destruction is not as evident but just as final. We are past the point of mental freedom and voices of independence are now slowly going silent.

Despite this scuffle in Georgia and realpolitik-al countermove in Poland, only we the free have lost out. Both the United States and Russia have extended their influence further into Europe. Aggression, widespread war, it is bad for business and capitalists know this. The shepherd protects his flock from wolves that never materialize but then sheers and eventually kills his sheep. Capitalist Russia sincerely believes that it is protecting the world from capitalist America and visa versa. Even though we are heading to an era of peace it will be a peace that we may not be conscious enough to enjoy.
