Opiates
People take opiates to numb and escape reality. People don’t realize it they just take it for all the reasons that the government and society says they take it; Peer pressure, movies, experimentation, ignorance of the effects, because it makes them feel cool…lots of reasons. The only real reason is because reality –life as we know it- is a very painful experience and many of us just cant deal with it. Life doesn’t have to be painful but thanks to capitalism, the systematic unequal distribution of wealth, it is.
You might think that governments want to stop drugs but in truth….they don’t. Has drugs stopped since the new airport restrictions? No. Governments hate unregulated drugs this is true. Unregulated drugs mean Columbian coke, Afgani and Chinese Opium and virtually anyone’s marijuana (equatorial and tropical countries) have a means of earning money. But lately, governments and the wealthy have found ways of earning money off drug dealers and so don’t feel so threatened. Alchohol and Tobacco are fully regulated and owned by the wealthy so they mess us up twice. Firstly by taxing our meager earning, then secondly when we kill ourselves imbibing the product. Since the invention of international banking and the buying up of third world governments and individuals the rich have circumvented local governments in earning a profit off opiates. Government makes enough money with prisons, non-functional social programmes and bribes to focus on drugs much anymore.
Another very successful drug is religion. Religion is the ultimate opiate and Marx knew this. A drug you can enjoy with hundreds and literally millions of others across the world, a drug that not only keeps you in a daze but propagandizes to you how to serve your master GOD. A opiate that permits you to kill, stirs you to action, validates your life, explains the unexplainable and ridicules the search for wisdom, justice and progress. A drug that numbs every sense and only needs administering once a week, the day before you head back to create wealth for the gods of this world. Examine for a second the structure of a church: a supervisor- the pastor/priest/imam/leader and all your coworkers. Some co-workers have a begrudged superiority and special function but all equals under the head. But there is one more step to the pyramid….the deity….the invisible unseen which we all worship and give our tithe to. The invisible who has supposedly done something for us to be grateful to…..he has given us life of all things and of course forgives us for the “wickedness” we carry out when we are not working. From early out I realized how un-wicked I was. I naturally thought that as one of the un-wicked I must be better than all these other people who come to church begging God for forgiveness for their wickedness. I then realized how many others could also claim this un-wickedness and in fact a good 90% of the world was not wicked. In fact the only people who are wicked feel almost no remorse at all. They are called psychopaths and psychopaths don’t go whining to any authority for forgiveness, in fact a good half of psychopaths end up as politicians, policemen and religious leaders.
Church is promoted by government also. The same government that fights unregulated drugs and taxes regulated drugs promotes an organization that condemns all drugs. From the prospect that Church is another drug of course you can see why. Church of course will condemn other drugs, because if you are getting high on weed or crystal meth you probably wont have enough to put in the collection plate or even come to church.
In an age slowly awakening to the lie of religion, I realize the push to start the promotion of other opiate alternatives to religion; Atheism as a religion, video games, television, carnal sexuality, voyeurism, stardom, consumerism.
And here is the crux of my argument, the reason I place this rant here. Wow my dear friends is a waste of time, a flashy way of sticking your head up your ass and letting real life pass you by. Not only that but it is just another way for multinational demigods to siphon money out of your pocket. Wow is fun? Wow helps you get rid of stress? Any description you can attribute to this game, I can attribute to a drug or otherwise opiate that can achieve the same.
In the last few years I have done away with many of my opiates. Its been 7 years without weed, about 3 without religion 2 without television and a few months without online alchohol and videogames. I do indulge in watching a few videos, I use the internet and I have sex with my current lady a few times a week. So even though I am still hooked on some things, I do think I am better off. In the meantime I get my jollies from exercise and deconstructing society. The difference between me and you is that my addictions achieve measurable changes and progress.
But then again, what is reality? No matter what you or I do, we are still getting oppressed by the demi-gods who own 95% of the wealth of this planet. Except for the fact that I am expanding my mind body and social circles to perhaps one day do something about these opiate pushers…….
Of the millions of middleclass boys and girls, men and women playing this game(6 million apparently) some are going off to fight capitalist wars (no different from any other war). Part of the reason they can do this is because you are doped up. You are all thralls to the bright lights, fantasy colors and simulated progression.
I have already accepted that you will cast aside this judgment. My 28 years of experience cannot compare to 12 thousand years of systematic propaganda. I may seem crazy, but when I go to work on Monday I wont be telling anyone that me and 25 “friends” undead, elves trolls and whatever got together to slay a demon or dragon who produced a valuable item which I proudly wear. Me? I had a few non-alchoholic drinks, watched a movie read the newspaper and wrote a few analyses and a letter to my mom.
