I wrote an article a few weeks back about big government coming back in style as Obama and the cronyesque ex-Clintons line themselves and the democratic senate up for 4 years of pork barrel budgets and bureaucratic megaplexes. This week after much berating by Masopher I am going to talk about what is eventually going to happen.

Lo! (I thought I should start with “Lo” as if I am prophesising.)

Government will experience a dramatic disconnect from the people as they will be unable to exercise control over those that elect them. Similar to other more popular voting schemes (American Idol, Big Brother, X factor) People will continue to vote and like aforementioned voting schemes the winners will not be able to exercise the influences of true leaders. Fear, the once chief holdover of government control will no longer work on a population numbed to violence and disaster. Hopes will have been dashed too many times to briefly instil. Misinformation will no longer work as channels of official information are overtaken by alternative narratives and conspiracy theories.

Where there was one society there will be two. One guided by the invisible hand a society that runs itself and the other a society that is essentially a large government. And they will trade beside each other and with each other and live and intermarry but the twain shall not meet in this age.

Federal rate cuts, fiscal policy are failing to work because the society, all of us is getting too big and too smart to control. One man nor any significant group of men will never gain be enough to lead us. Just as it was when the Aztecs, Ashanti, Acadians and Sumerians and Zembabweans roamed free it we again up to us up to nations to guide our own destiny not the puppets and demagogues in formal office.

A black man in the Whitehouse means that America is finally freeing itself from chattel slavery but it also means that humans are freeing themselves from the shackles of bureaucratic government.

Multi million pound publicity schemes spent so that a man or woman can sit in a nice office can go on ad nauseum but Masopher knows who runs this world. Angels, demons and all of us.

Masopher presents: The Deep-ness

Masopher’s mind is not about me and a semi-notional character lamenting on the inevitable destruction of man. It is a website about freedom of thought and freedom of expression. So yes I say  whatever I feel like within reason but you can too.

I met this free thinker what seems like decades ago and she impressed me not with her ability to talk over everyone else or her firm and clear world view but with her pragmatism, keen listening and understanding skills. Despite her petite-ness she came across as somewhat of a big sister to her friends, an ear and a voice of wisdom. She was also slightly “touched” as are many of her pals; not in the way that little Vietnamese boys are touched by Gary Glitter but touched in the sense of slightly out of kilter with what mainstream wants her to be. A perfect addition to Masopher’s Mind. She and her pack of shy geniuses as well as you other wack jobs are always invited into The Mind to help make it great!

Ok, without further ado: The Deep-ness:

I personally don’t have many “set in stone views”, however if I did, it would be this; Prostitution should be legalised (with conditions and safeguards). This might offend a lot of people, I am not trying to be controversial I just believe that this would benefit most communities.
Three main criteria:

·         they must be healthy,

·         at least 18

·         and protected.

The benefits I could see with the legalisation of solicitation are hopefully reducing the number of sexual transmitted diseases which are happily hopping between many people from all walks of life. Whilst this wouldn’t eliminate all STIs , I believe it would reduce their proliferation.
Hopefully it would guarantee better health measures for the punter and the seller, with the lady and gentleman prostitutes getting regular check ups and ensuring that the correct protection is there from condoms to security.
Condoms to prevent the spread of sexual transmitted diseases as well as preventing unwanted “little people”.
Security to prevent prostitutes from suffering any physical harm… security not in a form of a pimp but just a plain old body guard who is paid a wage, and not a thief.
Many prostitutes are drug addicts and from what I have seen, it’s a reality. Men and women might continue to solicit illegally but maybe punters should have a clear choice of whom they were choosing to do the hanky panky with.
Child prostitutes are a reality and there will be people who still have desires towards young children. If there was a legal alternative that is clean and safe it might reduce the number of children being harmed in this manner. This is possibly the most important reason why I would advocate legalisation.

It was reported early the week of 25th February that Pakistan had managed to “accidentally remove You Tube from the web”. Geek gibberish ensues as to how a select few ISPs can affect the entire world. I’m not one of those geeks so I accept that it is possible, though the conspiracy theorist inside wants to waggle an eyebrow. Pakistan does know a whole lot about information warfare, having been trained by the best but it is possible that they are being (as before) used by the best for some purpose that alas Masopher and Joe Blogs will never know about.

The other three points that come up in my look at this event is the consideration of:

1. Has Pakistan religious leaders only now just realized how blasphemous You Tube is?

You Tube has lambasted religion, politics and human decency ever since its inception. That’s what “smart” people with too much time (and a video camera) on their hands do. It took 2 years for the politicians and priests of Pakistan to find out that they too are targets. Everyone uses it, from American Politicians to Iraqi insurgents and of course everyone in-between and beyond.

2. Doesn’t Pakistan have bigger problems on its plate?

One would think that with Al Qaeda scurrying about, a far more deserving Taliban regime roaring in the desert, politicians being killed and an arsenal of Nuclear missiles, not to mention the death and poverty, you tube might be lower down on the agenda. I agree that “Im F&#@ing matt damon/Ben Affleck” and “two girls one cup” is depravity that should be banned by totalitarian regimes or fundamentalist religious states. However since Pakistan barely qualifies as a working state whether fundamentalist or totalitarian, how it has time to debate the niceties of youtube is beyond me.

3. How many Pakistanis in Pakistan actually have access to the internet much less youtube?
Now this is no slight to the rich boy Pakistani’s in Oxford and Cambridge, immigrants and second generation asylum seekers. If any of you go back to Pakistan perhaps to train for something in particular or assume your dynastic heritage memories of Britney Paris and Amy go along with you. But let’s be honest, how many homes in Pakistan actually have access to You Tube? Not enough to warrant an infatada on online videos I warrant.
